Habits - the most powerful tool in your brain

Habits are probably the most powerful tool you have to make lasting changes in your life.
They are controlled by a small but crucial part of your brain – the basal ganglia.
This golf ball-sized lump of tissue, hidden deep in your brain, is responsible for making everyday actions so automatic that you barely have to think about them.

This may sound inconspicuous, but this is where the key to real transformation lies. By building positive habits in a targeted way, you can change your behavior gradually and effortlessly. Exercise, healthy eating or stress management – it all starts with small, recurring actions that your brain stores as habits.

The more you practice these new patterns, the deeper they become ingrained. So you don't have to rely on willpower to achieve your goals – trust in the power of your habits, which unconsciously and automatically lead you to a better you.
